RetroSound reveals the secrets of electronic music of the 1970ies and 80ies featuring the legendary sound of vintage synthesizers and drum machines of that time. With these instruments music history was made! I want these legendary sound machines not to be forgotten and their legacy uphold! The Album: RetroSound was created in 1998 as a sound-design project. I developed several sound-sets for synthesizers. Since I have turned back to the roots of electronic music. I dedicate myself to the goal of bringing back the long forgotten sound of 70ies and 80ies classic electronica. I do not use VSTi/PlugIns or software sequencers. I want to demonstrate the unusual sound characteristics of these legendary hardware sound machines. I myself play all the gear that features on this side. I spend much time in testing and trying gear. Only what captures my interest will find its way on this site. Classic electronic music has strongly influenced my work. To name just a few: the early sound-paintings of Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and particularly the music of the 80ies like Talk Talk, Gary Numan, Human League, Howard Jones, The Fixx, YMO, Yazoo, Saga, Asia, Yello, Trevor Horn (Buggles, Art of Noise, Propaganda), Genesis and many more. The sound samples on my pages may be freely used for soundgenerating with the Nord Modular/ Micro Modular, Korg EX-8000/ DW-8000, Waldorf Microwave II and Yamaha CS1x.
